1 kilo of pears
21/2 cups of water
2 cups of sugar
4-5 cloves of cloves
Cut the pears to 4 and clean them from the peels and pips.
Put the sugar and cloves into the pot.
If our fruits are a bit hard, put them together in the pot.
If, however, it is soft, first boil the syrup for 10 minutes to melt the sugar and then add it.
Boil them at moderate temperature until the fruits soften not to melt and have a thin syrup.
When they are ready put them in a bowl, let them cool and put them in the refrigerator.
The refrigerator is kept for 1 week.
If we have a lot, we can put them in jars very well sterilized as they are hot and close them well.
Then put a clean towel on the bottom of the pot and top up the jars.
Cover them with water and boil for about 15-20 minutes.
Finally we turn off the fire, remove the jars, leave them a little to cool, and when we can catch them we tighten the lids very well.
Put them in the refrigerator where they are kept for about 2-3 months.
