1 kg of apples (cleaned)
80 g of sugar
2 cups of water
1 cinnamon stick
Clean apples from peels and pips and cut them to 4.
If we have a lot of apples we do it in 2 installments.
Put the water and sugar in a low and wide pot and put them in moderate heat.
When the syrup is boiled, add apples and cinnamon.
Cover them with a dish so that all apples are covered with the syrup.
Let them simmer for about 15 minutes without stirring to dissolve them.
They should not melt, they have to keep a little on the tooth.
When ready, put them in a bowl and keep them in the fridge for 1 week.
If we have a lot and we want to keep them for a longer time, put them in very well sterilized jars and close them well.
Put a clean towel on the bottom of the pot, from above put the jars upside down and cover them with water.
Boil them for 15-20 minutes and remove them from the water.
Leave them a little to cool, tighten the lids well, and keep them in a cool place or in the refrigerator.
